The promotion announced that the rematch will headline Bellator 175 on March 31 during the Bellator 170 broadcast on Saturday night. While their first bout was contested at light heavyweight, the second meeting will take place at heavyweight. The venue and location for the event will be announced soon, according to a release.

Jackson took a controversial unanimous verdict over “King Mo” at Bellator 120 on May 17, 2014. The matchup occurred at Bellator’s first — and thus far, only — pay-per-view offering, when Bjorn Rebney was still in charge of the promotion.

“Bjorn, you know what’s up, man,” Lawal said after the bout. “You know you didn’t win that fight, all smiling and s---. ‘Rampage,’ nothing against you. I beat you, though. You know it, and your corner knows it. I won that fight; and Bjorn, cut me if you don’t like me. You know I won that fight.”

Jackson enters the bout on a five-fight winning streak, including a split verdict over Satoshi Ishii in his most recent outing at Bellator 157. Lawal last appeared at Rizin 3 as part of the Japanese organization’s open-weight grand prix, where he suffered a second-round technical knockout loss to Mirko Filipovic in the bracket’s second round.
