Cole Konrad is the seventh announced participant for Bellator Fighting Championships’ season 3 eight-man heavyweight tournament.
Konrad joins UFC veteran
Eddie Sanchez,
Rogent Lloret, undefeated Polish heavyweight
Damian Grabowski,
Neil Grove,
Mike Hayes and
Scott Barrett in the draw. The tournament will begin on Aug. 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
The promotion is expected to name the tournament’s final entrant shortly.
The 28-year-old Konrad is undefeated in his first four pro bouts, earning unanimous decision wins against
Patrick Bennett and
John Orr during Bellator’s second season. The Wisconsin native has also trained alongside UFC heavyweight champion
Brock Lesnar at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy.
