The rapidly developing UFC 162 bill received another addition on Wednesday night, when UFC officials announced that Chan Sung Jung will face fellow featherweight Ricardo Lamas in a pivotal pairing on July 6.
Known as “The Korean Zombie,” Jung, 25, has yet to lose in the Octagon, posting three straight victories since his 2011 UFC debut. The South Korean most recently competed last May, submitting Dustin Poirier in a “Fight of the Year” winning performance at UFC on Fuel TV 3.
Another World Extreme Cagefighting alumnus, Lamas has earned a quartet of wins in his four UFC outings, topping Matt Grice and Cub Swanson in 2011 before outpointing former Sengoku champion Hatsu Hioki last June. “The Bully” was last seen on Jan. 26 at UFC on Fox 6, delivering a brutal knockout to highly-regarded Roufusport product Erik Koch.
