Kyle Daukaus will step in for the injured Ian Heinisch and face Brendan Allen at UFC on ESPN 12.

Daukaus’ manager and multiple outlets confirmed the new middleweight booking following an initial report from Ryan Frederick on Twitter. UFC on ESPN 12 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on June 27 and is headlined by a lightweight duel between Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker. The card airs on ESPN+ and ESPN.

A Dana White’s Contender Series alum and Cage Fury Fighting Championship middleweight king, Daukaus makes enters his UFC debut with a 9-0 record. The Martinez BJJ representative last appeared at CFFC 81, where he defended his belt with a second-round brabo choke of Nolan Norwood. Daukaus has finished eight of his career triumphs via tapout.

The 23-year-old Allen has won six consecutive fights and has kicked off his promotional tenure with wins over Kevin Holland and Tom Breese. The former Legacy Fighting Alliance champion owns a 14-3 professional mark that includes 13 wins inside the distance.
