Trey Houston vs. Jeremiah Riggs

Round 1
Riggs and Houston trade leg kicks to start the bout. Riggs connects with a wicked overhand right. He follows with a flurry but Houston recovers. Riggs gets a takedown and sets up in guard, landing punches from top position. They make it back to their feet and Houston answers with his own takedown. Riggs forces a scramble, and they get to their feet again. Both men are exhausted. Shots from both are lumbering and inaccurate. A fatigued Riggs tries to pull Houston back to the mat but Houston ends up in full mount. Riggs tries to push off the cage, but Houston locks up a tight belly-down armbar and forces Riggs to tap out at 3:30 of the first round.

Jeremy Myers vs. Jason Sampson

Round 1
Sampson starts the 140-pound catch-weight bout with a low kick to the groin, but there's no stoppage. Both fighters shake and quickly continue. Both trade hooks that hit only air. Myers tries a crane kick that grazes Sampson's arm. Sampson shoots in for a double-leg, but Myers' defense is true. Sampson is trying to close the distance, with little success. He wades in with a hook and grabs a bodylock, but Myers easily breaks free. Sampson is more active on the feet. Sampson rushes forward with a combination and grabs a double-leg against the cage. Myers keeps it up with underhooks, and turns the tables with a throw of his own. They scramble back to the feet right after they hit the mat. Myers is the one moving forward now. He whips a body kick at Sampson, who grabs his foe's leg and goes for another takedown. Sampson has Myers against the cage. They break off the fence, but now the action slows. Sampson lands a straight right. Myers tries a one-two that Sampson ducks under and answers with a left hook. The round ends with Sampson landing a single-leg takedown. Sherdog.com sees the opening frame 10-9 for Jason Sampson.

Round 2
The featherweights exchange combinations and leg kicks to open the second frame. Sampson dives in for a takedown, but Myers defends. Sampson tries a flying knee but his foot catches Myers' groin. The fight is paused briefly by referee Myron Gaudet. Upon restarting, they begin trading serious leather, but neither can land a clean shot. The action slows as both men circle away, looking to get their wind back. Sampson's movement is a lot better on the feet as he moves in and out of the pocket. Sampson lands a nice one-two combo, then shoots in for a double-leg takedown. Myers is defending against the cage. Sampson keeps working for the takedown and finally gets Myers to the mat. He transitions to the back, puts both hooks in and starts dropping leather on Myers' ears. He gets full mount and lands punches and elbows as the round ends. Sherdog.com sees the second frame 10-9 again for Jason Sampson.

Round 3
Sampson again sets up the takedown with the one-two combo. He lands in Myers' guard and is able to drop a few hard, clean punches to the face and body. Sampson moves into side control. Myers is able to get back to his knees, but the Texan has him pressed against the cage. Myers tries to stand, but Sampson drills him to the face with a vicious knee along the fence. “Wild Thing” quickly transitions to Myers' back during the scramble and sinks in a rear-naked choke. Myers is left with no choice but to tap, giving Sampson the win at 2:25 of the final round.

Derrick Krantz vs. Eric Scallan

Round 1
Scallan starts with a high kick that's blocked by Krantz. Scallan circles and dives for a double-leg. Krantz sprawls beautifully and they scramble to their feet. Krantz turns the tables and gets a takedown of his own from the clinch. He moves into side control. Scallan is working hard to get a better position, keeping Krantz from mounting any offense on top. Scallan turns into Krantz, trying to scramble back to his feet. Krantz fits his arm under the neck and locks up a brabo choke. Scallan tries to break free, but he's caught in deep. He goes out cold and referee Myron Gaudet steps in to rescue him at 3:01 of the first round.

Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Quarterfinal
Vitor Vianna vs. Brian Rogers

Round 1

Outside low kick by Rogers marks the beginning of the middleweight quarterfinal bout. Vianna steps into the pocket and gets touched with a one-two for his trouble. Rogers wings in with a right hook, giving Vianna the chance to duck under and shoot a double-leg. The Ohio native stuffs it and posts his back along the cage. Vianna knees him to the body, then breaks away. Left hook by Rogers hits Vianna's gloves, but thuds with some power. Vianna kicks to the body, Rogers catches it and the Brazilian hits the deck, but his opponent shows no desire to go to the mat. Rogers wades in again, and Vianna again shoots. Rogers gets an overhook and nicely tosses Vianna to his back with a short uchimata. “The Predator” postures up and lands some hammerfists before standing back up.

Outside low kicks continue to land for Rogers. Rogers throws a double jab and smacks Vianna with a right cross. The Brazilian stumbles back, and Rogers is all over him. “The Predator” detonates a flying knee on the chin of Vianna, and the Brazilian hits the mat flat on his back. Jason Herzog halts the bout immediately at 4:14 of the first round. Incredible, clean knockout for Brian Rogers, the first Bellator Season 6 middleweight tournament semifinalist.

Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Quarterfinal
Giva Santana vs. Bruno Santos

Round 1
Santana stalks Santos, launching an overhand right that backs his stocky opponent up. Santana charges in on a single-leg takedown, and Santos shuts him down with an overhook, elbowing his head. Santana stays in one the single leg, and tries to roll through to force “Carioca” to his back, but Santos smartly rolls through and regains his feet. The men clinch with over-unders along the fence. Santos lands a knee low on Santana, and referee Jason Herzog intervenes to give him a respite. After 90 seconds or so, they restart in the clinch. Santos quickly turns Santana's back to the fence before Santana breaks free. Santana charges forward with a volley of punches, but Santos stays off the end of them, then clinches Santana. They pummel along the cage with neither man gaining an advantage. Santos lands a right hook in tight, then they break. Jab for Santos snaps Santana's head back, and he follows with an inside low kick. Hard outside low kick for Santos and a jab. Santana throws a wild left hand, and gives chase before the bell. Sherdog.com sees a close first frame 10-9 for Bruno Santos.

Round 2
Santana attacks with outside low kicks to start. Santos returns fire, then Santana smacks him with a left hook that prompts the stocky Santos to clinch momentarily. Santos cuts into Santana with another inside low kick before initiating another bodylock that goes nowhere. Santana scores with an awkward right shovel punch, but when he tries to attack, Santos picks him up and throws him to the mat. The Baiano stands above him, kicking his legs from Ali-Inoki position, but Santana grabs a hold of him and almost works his way to a wakigatame armbar. They scramble back to the feet. With a minute left, Santos smacks another loud low kick. Overhand right for Santana scores, and then Santos drives him to the fence. They break off the cage and trade hooks until the bell, with Santana's right landing on his shorter foe. Sherdog.com reckons the second round 10-9 for Giva Santana.

Round 3
Santana jumps into the pocket and gets hit with an awkward left from Santos. Another clinch goes nowhere for Santos, but he separates and cracks Santana with another low kick. Santana drives for another single-leg takedown, but Santos shows more solid balance, clubbing Santana's head as he uses an underhook to shuck him off. Santana is starting to slow and now Santos is coming forward with offense. The unblemished Brazilian pumps single jabs in the face of Santana, and when the BJJ black belt comes at him, Santos changes levels and double-legs him easily to the canvas. Santos sets up in full guard, and buries his head in Santana's chest. Santana postures in pursuit of Santos' arm, and Santos stands away from him again. This time, he steps back and lets Santana regain his feet. With a minute to go, Santana begins lunging forward with kicks, but can't find a home for them.

Santos single-legs him to the canvas with 45 seconds to fight, landing a few short rights before standing up again. Santana butt scoots, and eats leg kicks for his trouble. Santana dives for Santos' leg in desperate pursuit of a finish, but Santos controls his hips well enough to shut down the attempt and hear the bell. Sherdog.com sees the decisive frame 10-9 for Bruno Santos, and awards him the bout 29-28.

Official result: Judge Jordan Bass sees the bout 30-27, while Myron Gaudet and Buddy Caskey have it 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Bruno Santos. Bruno Santos advances to the semifinals of the Bellator Season 6 middleweight tournament.

Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Quarterfinal
Vyacheslav Vasilevsky vs. Victor O'Donnell

Round 1
Both fighters pumping jabs to start the bout, but it's O'Donnell touching more first. Vasilevsky lands a sneaky right hook. O'Donnell using good head movement to set up punch combinations and inside leg kicks. Vasilevsky lands a one-two as O'Donnell looks for a double-leg, but O'Donnell shoots moments later, dirves him to the fence and puts him on the mat. O'Donnell tries to walk over the Russian's legs to get to mount, but Vasilevsky turns to the fence and walks up the wall. The American drives in on another takedown and gets him to his back with two minutes to go in the round. Vasilvesky just hangs on to O'Donnell's neck while the Bellator tournament vet drops hammerfists. The action slows and referee Jason Herzog stands them up 60 seconds to go in the round. As the round winds down, Vasilvesky gets a takedown of his own, but O'Donnell uses double butterfly hooks to get back to his feet. Vasilevsky lands knees to the body and a pair of uppercuts before the horn. Sherdog.com sees the opening round 10-9 for Victor O'Donnell, the more effective boxer through the first five minutes.

Round 2
Both men paw with jabs. Vasilevsky trying to stay outside of O'Donnell. When the American steps in, Vasilevsky lands a short lead left square on the chin that stuns O'Donnell and sends him to his seat. Vasilevsky dives all over him with hammerfists, forcing him to roll around to turtle. O'Donnell goes for a kneebar, and Vasilevsky grabs the fence to keep his feet. Jason Herzog warns him, but Vasilevsky is able to stay on his feet before kneeling back to the mat and setting up in O'Donnell's guard. O'Donnell is trying to tie up Vasilevsky's arms, but the Russian lands punches with both hands to the head and body. O'Donnell continues to try to control Vasilevsky, but can't control his opponent's hands. Vasilevsky continues to land solid rights and left to both the body and the head. Vasilevsky lands two baby hooks on top that seem to stun O'Donnell, and the Russian gets busy with more punishment.

O'Donnell is starting to get badly marked up, and is almost entirely on the defensive now. Vasilevsky moves to half guard and peppers O'Donnell with short shots. O'Donnell tries to roll away, and Vasilevsky keeps punching away until the bell. Sherdog.com sees a fairly lopsided second round 10-8 for Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, who nearly ended the bout late in the stanza.

Round 3
O'Donnell is on uneasy legs as the third begins. Vasilevsky smacks him with another left, and the American's legs are gone. He hits the mat and Vasilevsky is all over him again. O'Donnell is trying to fight back from his guard, but he's being overwhelmed. Vasilevsky gets in half guard and begins to chip away with right hands on O'Donnell, who is simply laying still and covering his face. O'Donnell tries to sit up, and Vasilevsky controls his head and smashes him with punches and uppercuts. Incredibly, O'Donnell gets back to his feet. Right cross from Vasilevsky cracks O'Donnell, whose left eye is now swelling badly. Jab from Vasilevsky pops O'Donnell. Another big right cross, then another jab. O'Donnell is just target practice on the feet now. Three-piece combination lands for Vasilevsky off of a lazy O'Donnell left hook. Body shots for Vasilevsky now land. Vasilevsky's jab remains tethered to O'Donnell's face for the last minute of the bout. Complete domination for the final 10 minutes for Slava Vasilevsky. Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Quarterfinal
Maiquel Falcao vs. Norman Paraisy

Round 1
Paraisy walks Falcao to the fence, but the minute the Frenchman kicks, Falcao catches his leg and trips him to the canvas. The Brazilian quickly advances to the full mount, but Paraisy explodes and gets back to his feet. Paraisy throws a one-two, and Falcao flurries with both hands. Falcao looking to explode with counters when Paraisy attacks. “Big Rig” pushes Paraisy into the fence and knees him to the thighs and body before separating. Outside low kick by Falcao is answered in kind by Paraisy. Falcao chases with punches, lands a low kick, then shoots for a takedown. Paraisy stuffs it and lands some small hammerfists. Short peppering lefts from Falcao. The Brazilian digs for a double-leg before the horn, picking Paraisy up, but the Frenchman's underhook stops him from slamming him properly. Sherdog.com sees the opening frame 10-9 for Maiquel Falcao.

Round 2
Nasty outside leg kicks land for Falcao, and Paraisy tries to land kicks of his own to the body, but can't land clean. Falcao flurries to the body, then cracks another low kick into the left knee of Paraisy. The Frenchman shoots this time, and the Brazilian sprawls, shuts it down, and gains his feet. The action hits the fence again, as Falcao presses Paraisy into the cage, and drives more knees into the meat of the thighs and knees of his opponent. Both fighters wing wildly as they exit the clinch. Paraisy comes forward, right onto another Falcao leg kick. Paraisy is starting to slow as the Brazilian continues to punish his legs. Paraisy keeps walking foward, winging strikes, but can only manage to land a groin kick low that pauses the bout for a brief moment. Paraisy keeps swiping with big hooks, and Falcao finally counters him, landing a short hook that forces Paraisy back to the fence. Hooks and knees land for Falcao as Paraisy covers and retreats. Falcao is stalking Paraisy, playing with his food now, as he smacks him with another heavy right hook. Falcao rips Paraisy to the body with kicks and punches at the horn. 10-9 round again for Maiquel Falcao.

Round 3
The middleweights touch glove as the final frame begins. More hard low kicks for the confident Falcao. A push kick from Paraisy is caught, and Falcao trips the Frenchman to the canvas with authority. The Brazilian gets right to the neck and looks to pass to full mount. Paraisy uses his feet on the cage to try to turn away from the pass, but Falcao smashes him with right hands. Paraisy gets back to his feet, but eats a hook for it. Low kick and a right cross for Falcao. Paraisy shoots in desperation, and Falcao flips him to his back with just underhooks. Falcao sets up on top again and tries to move into full mount once more. Paraisy tries to move to deep half guard to sweep, and Falcao hammerfists him. Paraisy manages to roll the Brazilian to his back, and sets up on top in half guard. Falcao quickly regains guard and closes it. Paraisy is trying to stay busy, but Falcao begins boxing his ears vigorously from the bottom. Referee Jason Herzog stands them up with 20 seconds to fight. Falcao taunts Paraisy, initiating a swinging contest to the finish with Falcao getting the better licks in. Paraisy's eyes are swollen up bad. Sherdog.com sees it 10-9 for Maiquel Falcao, and a clean sweep for the UFC veteran, 30-27.

Official result: All three judges -- Jordan Bass, Myron Gaudet and Bobby Caskey -- see the fight 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision, Maiquel Falcao. Falcao is the fourth and final Bellator Season 6 middleweight tournament semifinalist.

Brent Taylor vs. Josh Quayhagen

Round 1
Quayhagen's early kicking offense lets Taylor catch his leg and trip him to the mat. Taylor whips his legs by and nicely passes into side control. Quayhagen gets out from under his man and regains his feet. Outside low kick, two hooks and a head kick for Quayhagen, though Taylor blocks most of it. Quayhagen coming forward, but Taylor is backpedaling from Quayhagen's kicking offense. Switch kick to the body lands for Lake Charles, La., native. Spinning back kick to the body now for Quayhagen. Quayhagen tries a spinning wheel kick, but slips, allowing Taylor to get a lick in before he can get back to his feet. Right cross, outside low kick and a pair of stinging hooks land for Quayhagen. Taylor's right nostril is now trickling. Taylor tries to return fire but can't land. Sherdog.com scores the round 10-9 for Josh Quayhagen.

Round 2
Quayhagen is walking forward landing ample low kicks and jabs now. Taylor is able to sneak a right-hand counter in, but Quayhagen is kicking to the legs and body with both of his legs, forcing Taylor to retreat to the outside of the cage. Spinning back kick for Quayhagen lands to Taylor's bread basket. Quayhagen's hands are starting to fall, but he is still effortlessly walking his opponent down and landing kicks. Hard right-hand lead for Quayhagen lands, and then a right hook. A wild spinning hook kick for Quayhagen whizzes over Taylor's head, and he slips to the canvas. Taylor's brief moment he spends on top before the bell leaves the blood from his nose all over Quayhagen's chest. Sherdog.com sees round two 10-9 again for Josh Quayhagen.

Round 3
Taylor attempts a flying knee and just narrowly escapes eating a big right-hand counter from Quayhagen. Overhand right for Quayhagen stumbles Taylor, who is circling quickly now. Body kicks for Quayhagen land. Two leg kicks follow. Quayhagen is in complete control of the bout and Taylor is simply retreating now. Big right hand by Quayhagen and more kicks. Taylor's nose might be broken and he looks like he's just trying to avoid taking damage. Quayhagen with more kicks. Taylor throws a one-two, but Quayhagen roars back with more punches and kicks. Two big knees and two right crosses for Quayhagen smack Taylor's head back and force him to shoot. Taylor is able to get Quayhagen to the mat, but can't advance position, so referee Jordan Bass stands them up with a minute to go. A bloodied Taylor is shoots on Quayhagen again. Quayhagen attempts an ugly guillotine, but Taylor passes. They scramble, and Taylor grabs a guillotine of his own. Taylor straining to finish as Quayhagen tries to wait out the bell. He succeeds. Sherdog.com sees the fight a clean sweep for Josh Quayhagen, 30-27.
