UFC veteran Brock Larson and Japanese knockout artist Nobutatsu Suzuki will vie for the vacant One Fighting Championship welterweight title at One FC 14.
Also booked for One FC 14 “War of Nations” is a bantamweight co-main event pitting Filipino standout Kevin Belingon against unbeaten South Korean Dae Hwan Kim. Former UFC flyweight Yasuhiro Urushitani will meet Brazilian prospect Adriano Moraes, while female strawweights Sherilyn Lim and Ann Osman will rematch. Local Malaysian favorite Peter Davis is also expected to compete on the card.
Larson, 36, came out on top in his April promotional debut, earning a three-round unanimous decision against dangerous striker Melvin Manhoef. The Minnesotan, who once competed for the WEC welterweight belt, enters the bout on a four-fight winning streak.
Also 36, Suzuki made his name by racking up nine knockouts in 11 appearances for Japan’s Zst promotion. A training partner and karate coach to Takanori Gomi, Suzuki suffered his only defeat to Keita Nakamura in 2012 but rebounded last year by halting Phil Baroni in the first round of their One FC 9 matchup. Suzuki was originally slated to fight for the One FC title in November before losing two opponents to injury.
