Leandro Silva Replaces Madadi, Meets Khabilov at UFC Fight Night in Hamburg

By Tristen Critchfield Jul 26, 2016

Leandro Silva will replace Reza Madadi and face Rustam Khabilov when the Ultimate Fighting Championship travels to Hamburg, Germany, on Sept. 3.

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced the change to the lightweight bout; reasons for Madadi’s withdrawal were not disclosed. UFC Fight Night takes place at Barclaycard Arena and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett. The event will be streamed in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.

Silva last competed at UFC Fight Night “MacDonald vs. Thompson” on June 18, suffering a split decision loss to Jason Saggo. Prior to that, “Buscape” had been victorious in three of his last four Octagon appearances.

Khabilov, meanwhile, is unbeaten thus far in 2016, with unanimous decision victories over Chris Wade and Norman Parke to his credit. The Dagestani fighter is 5-2 during his promotional tenure overall.
