Legacy FC 58 Weigh-in Results: Drysdale, Spann Set for Championship Bout

By Mike Sloan Jul 21, 2016
It’s been over two years since Robert Drysdale last stepped foot inside a mixed martial arts cage to compete in a professional bout. On Friday night in the main event of Legacy FC 58 at the Golden Nugget Casino Hotel in Lake Charles, La., he’ll be able to finally resume his career.

Drysdale will stand opposite Ryan Spann for the promotion’s vacant light heavyweight championship in what could come down to whether Spann can keep the Brazilian jiu jitsu wizard off the canvas. In the other featured bout, fellow elite BJJ player Mackenzie Dern will make her MMA debut against Kenia Rosas, who also will be fighting professionally for the first time.

At Thursday’s weigh-ins, all of the fighters on the main card made weight, giving the clearance for the event to go forth. Spann was the first of the main combatants to weigh in and he came in at 203.8 pounds. Drysdale, meanwhile, tipped the scale at 204.2 pounds.

Rosas looked as ready as ever when she stepped to the scale and came in just right for her strawweight bout. Rosas checked in at 115.7 pounds and Dern weighed 116.
