Two of mixed martial arts top regional promotions go will head-to-head on May 8.
On Friday’s episode “Inside MMA” it was announced that the rosters of Legacy Fighting Championship and Resurrection Fighting Alliance will square off in a cross-promotional event to be televised on AXS-TV. The card will be headlined by a flyweight championship affair between Legacy titlist Damacio Page and RFA ruler Alexandre Pantoja.
Two more titles when be on the line as well -- but both belts will remain within their respective promotions, as RFA bantamweight king Luke Sanders will meet Terrion Ware, while Legacy FC lightweight contenders Dave Burrow and Mike Bronzoulis will vie for 155-pound gold.
The card is highlighted by four more promotion vs. promotion pairings: RFA’s Jan Jorgensen vs. Legacy FC’s Joe Cason at heavyweight; RFA’s Bojan Velickovic vs. Legacy FC’s Charles Byrd at welterweight; RFA’s Adam Townsend vs. Legacy FC’s Chris Feist at lightweight; and Legacy FC’s Brian Hall vs. an RFA opponent to be determined at flyweight.
“We are excited to be a part of a series that is the first of its kind,” Legacy FC promoter and CEO Mick Maynard stated in a release. “Both of our organizations have been instrumental in catapulting fighters to the next level in their careers for the last several years, and this will be an even more entertaining and unique way to continue that legacy. Many have talked the talk; Legacy and RFA will now be walking the walk.”
