Lentz Tapped to Replace Lauzon at UFC 103
Nik
Lentz will step in for an injured Dan Lauzon at
UFC
103 in Dallas, according to a source close to the Minnesota
Martial Arts Academy product.
Lentz (16-3-1) will be making his UFC debut against fellow first-timer Rafaello Oliveira, a training partner of lightweight champ B.J. Penn. Lentz’s biggest victory came earlier this year when he defeated former UFC welterweight Drew Fickett by submission. He enters the promotion on a eight-fight unbeaten streak.
Oliveira (9-1) will have a little less than four weeks to prepare for his new opponent. The veteran lightweight has rattled off three wins since suffering the only loss of his career, a stoppage defeat to Lyle Beerbohm in October 2008.
The bout is scheduled for the undercard portion of the Sept. 19 event.
