Ex-UFC featherweight Leonard Garcia has already found a new home, as Legacy Fighting Championship officials recently announced that Garcia has signed a three-fight deal with the Texas-based promotion.
Garcia, 33, lost five straight fights to prompt his UFC release. The hard-swinging featherweight suffered back-to-back defeats to Matt Grice and Max Holloway last year and was outpointed by Cody McKenzie in his most recent outing, dropping a unanimous decision to the “TUF 12” alum on April 27 at UFC 159.
Trujillo, meanwhile, rides back-to-back wins into his showdown with Garcia, as “The Warrior” posted knockout victories over James King and Chris Jones under the Legacy banner to kick off 2013. The 31-year-old made a single Strikeforce appearance in 2010, earning a 28-second technical knockout over Jose Santibanez at Strikeforce “Houston.”
