Light Heavyweights James Te Huna, Ryan Jimmo Join UFC on Fuel TV 7 in London

Light heavyweights James Te Huna and Ryan Jimmo are the latest additions to the UFC’s upcoming trip to London.

Promotion officials announced Thursday that the pair will lock horns at the Feb. 16 event, which emanates from Wembley Arena and is headlined by an interim bantamweight title showdown between Renan “Barao” Pegado and Michael McDonald. The evening’s main card airs live on Fuel TV, while the preliminary proceedings stream immediately prior on Facebook.

Known for his devastating punching power, Te Huna, 31, has won three straight fights since falling to Alexander Gustafsson in February 2011. The New Zealand-born light heavyweight closed out last year with 47-second knockout of Ricardo Romero and then kicked off 2012 with a first-round finish of Aaron Rosa. Te Huna most recently competed at UFC on Fuel TV 4, taking a unanimous decision from the resilient Joey Beltran on July 11.

Jimmo, meanwhile, notched a seven-second knockout of Anthony Perosh in his UFC debut, downing “The Hippo” at UFC 149. Prior to that July 21 victory, Jimmo had won seven straight fights in Canada’s Maximum Fighting Championship, capturing that promotion’s light heavyweight title in February 2011 and defending it successfully twice before joining the UFC. “Big Deal” has not recorded a professional loss since his 2007 debut, rattling off 17 straight wins, including seven knockouts.
