Lightweight ‘TUF’ Veterans Michael Johnson, Myles Jury Clash Dec. 29 at UFC 155

A lightweight confrontation between “Ultimate Fighter” alumni Michael Johnson and Myles Jury has been added to the UFC 155 dance card, promotion officials announced Thursday.

UFC 155 takes place Dec. 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between reigning champion Junior dos Santos and ex-titlist Cain Velasquez. The evening’s main draw airs live on pay-per-view, while the FX network and Facebook will carry the preliminary card.

Known as “The Menace,” Johnson fought his way to the finals of “TUF 12” before dropping a unanimous decision to Jonathan Brookins at the live finale nearly two years ago. Though Johnson would split his next two bouts, the 26-year-old currently rides a three-fight winning streak heading into his showdown with Jury. Johnson kicked off 2012 by outpointing veteran Shane Roller and then did the same to “TUF 13” winner Tony Ferguson on May 5. Most recently, the lightweight punched out Team Alpha Male standout Danny Castillo on Oct. 5, surviving a knockdown in round one before turning the tables on “Last Call” in the second frame.

Jury, 24, still holds a perfect professional record, despite falling in an exhibition bout to cast mate Al Iaquinta during his time on “TUF 15.” Jury nevertheless performed well in the season finale, submitting Chris Saunders with a guillotine choke in just 4:03 at the June 1 event. Jury, who has fought the majority of his seven-year career under the King of the Cage banner, has finished all 10 of his career victims by either knockout or submission.
