The promotion announced the lightweight pairing on Tuesday. Bellator 183 takes place at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., and is headlined by a lightweight clash between Benson Henderson and Patricky Freire. The main card airs on Spike at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.
Additionally, Bellator Kickboxing 7 will also take place that evening, with a card topped by a welterweight championship tilt between Karim Ghajji and Raymond Daniels. That event will be broadcast via tape delay on Spike immediately following Bellator 184 on Oct. 6.
Piccolotti improved to 9-0 in his last promotional appearance, as he took a unanimous decision over Brandon Girtz at Bellator 165 on Nov. 19. The 28-year-old is now 5-0 in Bellator, including three triumphs via submission.
Yamauchi, meanwhile, bounced back from a loss to Bubba Jenkins at Bellator 151, to post consecutive first-round submissions of Ryan Couture and Valeriu Mircea in his last two outings. The 24-year-old Japanese fighter is 7-2 within the California-based organization and 21-3 as a professional overall.
