The UFC’s trip home to Las Vegas in March has a new addition to the card.
Beneil Dariush and Bobby Green will meet in a lightweight clash at UFC 222, which is scheduled for March 3 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and headlined by a featherweight title bout between champion Max Holloway and challenger Frankie Edgar. The Orange County Register was first to report the pairing, which Sherdog.com subsequently confirmed.
Dariush, 28, is winless in his last two fights. Last March, he wound up on the end of Edson Barboza’s sensational flying knee knockout. The Kings MMA product returned at UFC 216 in October, where he dominated Evan Dunham early but ultimately had to settle for a majority draw.
The 31-year-old Green was in the middle of a four-fight winless streak until last week, when he hammered out an entertaining unanimous verdict over Erik Koch at UFC on Fox 27 in Charlotte, N.C. It was “King’s” first win since defeating Josh Thomson in July 2014.
