Lightweights Derek Campos and Djamil Chan will square off on the Bellator 161 main card on Sept. 16.
A promotion official confirmed the pairing to Sherdog.com on Wednesday. Bellator 161 takes place at the HEB Center in Cedar Park, Texas, and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt pitting Cheick Kongo against Tony Johnson. The evening’s main draw will air on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.
Campos recently halted a two-fight skid with a second-round knockout of UFC veteran Melvin Guillard at Bellator 149 on Feb. 19. “The Stallion” is 5-4 within the California-based promotion and is 16-6 as a professional overall. Ten of his career triumphs have come by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Chan extended his winning streak to seven in his promotional debut, scoring a first-round knockout of Richard Patishnock at Bellator 153 on April 22. The 26-year-old Netherlands native owns a 12-2 career mark and has finished nine of his victims by knockout or technical knockout.
