Ross Pearson will fight Sam Stout at UFC 185 on March 14.
The promotion announced the lightweight contest on Wednesday. UFC 185 takes place at American Airlines Center in Dallas and features a lightweight title clash between Anthony Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos.
Pearson, 30, will be looking to bounce back from a technical knockout loss against Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night “Rockhold vs. Bisping” in November. “The Real Deal” has now lost two of his last three fights, although one of the losses -- a split decision loss to Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. Khabilov.” -- was voted Sherdog.com’s “Robbery of the Year.”
Stout, 30, was also on the losing end his last appearance inside the Octagon. “Hands of Stone” was knocked out by K.J. Noons in 30 seconds at UFC Fight Night “Bisping vs. Kennedy.” The Canadian has alternated between wins and losses since 2011, with his last win coming against Cody McKenzie at UFC on Fox 9.
