Yves Edwards will enter the Octagon against Akbarh Arreola in a lightweight bout when the UFC heads to Austin, Texas, on Nov. 22.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Tuesday announced the pairing. The UFC Fight Night card takes place at the Frank Erwin Center and includes a flyweight contest between Joseph Benavidez and Dustin Ortiz as well as a women’s strawweight tilt pitting Paige VanZant against Kailin Curran.
Edwards, 37, enters the bout with a professional record of 42-21-1 with one no contest. The “Thugjitsu Master” is winless in his last four outings and owns a 10-9 overall record under the UFC banner.
Arreola is coming off a loss in his Zuffa debut at UFC on Fox 12 against Tiago dos Santos e Silva. The Entram Gym product spent most of his career fighting for Mexican promotion MMA Xtreme before ultimately surfacing in the UFC. Prior to his defeat in July, “El Caballero” had won three consecutive fights via submission.
