Lion Fight 17 Set for Aug. 1 at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut

Lion Fight is set to continue its expansion across North America as it has reached a new multi-year deal with Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

In a press release that dropped Monday, Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent announced that his Las Vegas-based muay Thai promotion would be returning to “The Nutmeg State” following the successful Lion Fight 15.

“Thanks to this deal with Foxwoods Resort Casino, we will present even more events this year and in 2015, likely a fight every three or four weeks,” Kent said. “This allows us to keep our fighters active, sign more top athletes to multi-fight contracts and regularly showcase the sport of muay Thai to east coast fans.”

Lion Fight 17 will take place Aug. 1 from the Foxwoods Resort Casino and air on AXS TV, a little less than a month removed from the promotion’s joint venture with Ultimate Fighting Championship during next month’s “International Fight Week.”

Tickets go on sale today via Foxwoods.com. No bouts have yet to be announced.
