Lion Fight 34 to be Headlined by Regian Eersel vs. Samy Sana

Muay Thai powerhouse Lion Fight Promotions has announced its first event of 2017 and the Las Vegas-based company will be staying home. Lion Fight 34 will commence inside the newly-renovated Tropicana Resort Casino on Feb. 3 and the show is slated to be loaded with international flavor.

Anchoring the event will be Regian Eersel making the first defense of his super middleweight title against 2014 Best of Siam champ Samy Sana (86-3). Eersel (44-4) exploded on the American scene back at Lion Fight 29 when he torched Jo Nattawut with a head kick in the fourth of a non-title affair. At Lion Fight 33, “The Immortal” clobbered Jake Purdy by finishing him with knees in the second.

Also slated for the bill is women’s super bantamweight champion Iman Barlow (84-5-3) defending her crown against Meryum Uslu (39-9-1). Middleweights Gabriel Mazzetti and Nick Chasteen will collide, as will Anthony Njokuani and Chris Harrington in a super middleweight tussle. The promotion also announced that Diego Llamas will face River Daz and Kronphet Phetrachapat will take on Kevin Burmester.

“When you can put champions like Regian Eersel and Iman Barlow on the same card alongside rising stars like Gabriel Mazzetti and Diego Llamas,it is already a stellar lineup,” said Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent. “Then you add global sensations like Samy Sana and Chris Harrington, and that raises the bar even higher.”

Lion Fight 34 will air live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Additional bouts will be announced soon.
