Bellator Fighting Championships middleweight titleholder Hector Lombard tipped the scales at 185.5 pounds for his non-title main event against Herbert Goodman (183.5) at Bellator 24 on Thursday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The two men hit the scales with 12 other fighters at Wednesday’s official weigh-in.
Goodman spent two seasons in the NFL as a running back and kick returner with the Green Bay Packers. The 32-year-old Miami, Fla., native has posted six wins in seven appearances and needed just 87 seconds to stop Mike Suttles on first-round punches at a Cool City Fight Promotions show on July 24. Goodman owns notable victories against UFC veterans Dante Rivera and Jordan Radev.
The combatants in the two opening round 115-pound women’s tournament bouts -- Megumi Fujii (115.5), Carla Esparza (115.25), Jessica Aguilar (113.5) and Lynn Alvarez (114.5) -- all met their contracted weight requirements, as did heavyweight tournament participants Neil Grove (264.5) and Eddie Sanchez (244.5)
