Louis Gaudinot has suffered an injury and will be unable to compete as expected against fellow flyweight Darren Uyenoyama at UFC on FX 5, promotion officials recently announced. Instead, Uyenoyama now faces Octagon newcomer Phil Harris.

UFC on FX 5 takes place Oct. 5 at the Target Center in Minneapolis and is headlined by a heavyweight confrontation between unbeaten Hawaiian prospect Travis Browne and former Strikeforce talent Antonio Silva.

Uyenoyama, 32, has won back-to-back fights heading into his showdown with Harris. “BC” emerged victorious in his Octagon debut last November, dominating Norifumi Yamamoto at UFC on Fox 1 en route to a unanimous decision win. That bantamweight triumph now behind him, the Californian now searches for his eighth career win in his flyweight debut against Harris.

Harris [pictured: left] is a two-time BAMMA veteran currently riding a five-fight winning streak. The Brit returned to action this year after spending nearly two years on the shelf, earning wins under the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship banner in February and March. “Billy” has finished 17 of his 21 conquered adversaries in nearly nine years as a pro, with 13 victories coming via submission.
