The middleweight known as “Bigslow” announced his release via Instagram on Thursday. Barnatt was coming off a unanimous decision defeat to Mark Munoz at UFC Fight Night on May 16. That marked the third consecutive loss for the Englishman, who also dropped split verdicts against Roger Narvaez and Sean Strickland during his current skid.

Barnatt first surfaced in the UFC on Season 17 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” After taking a unanimous decision victory over Collin Hart at the reality show’s finale, the Tsunami Gym product would go on to score finishes against Andrew Craig and Mats Nilsson in his next two outings. Barnatt has not won a fight since his first-round TKO of Nilsson on March 8, 2014.

The 27-year-old fighter, who stands 6-foot-6, began his career with five straight victories before appearing on “TUF.”
