M-1 Global Announces Five Events Between April and June

M-1 Global, Russia’s leading MMA promotion, officially announced five events in May and June on Friday afternoon. M-1 President Vadim Finkelchtein was excited at the formal press conference that announced the events, though he didn’t unveil any additional matchups for the cards aside from what has already revealed (Vegas odds).

According to the president, there will be one M-1 Challenge event in April, two in May and two more in June.

“In the next two-three months we will promote an extremely full schedule of events,” Finkelchtein stated. “Through the middle of June, we will promote five — I'm not afraid to use these words — grandiose tournaments. April 22 there's an event being held in Nazran, which was arranged with the support of the local government, and dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Ingushetia. On May 19, we will hold a truly spectacular event in Sochi. Our traditional tournament in Orenburg is set for May 26, which regularly takes place at the highest level with a crowded venue.

“On June 1, we will hold another event in St. Petersburg as part of the International Economic Forum program,” the president added. “And already on June 15, a major tournament will be held in Harbin, China,  during the program of the Russian-Chinese Expo. Both in St. Petersburg and China, we are included in the official program, so we will be participating in truly large-scale events.”

M-1 Challenge 76, slated for April 22, will be headlined by a showdown between Alexey Nevzorov and Movsar Evloev while M-1 Challenge 80, set for June 15, will be anchored by Pride legend Sergei Kharitonov taking on Marcus Vinicius Lopes. M-1 Challenge 77 (May 19), M-1 Challenge 78 (May 26) and M-1 Challenge 79 (June 1) do not have any bouts secured as of yet. Full details on each of the events will be announced in the coming weeks.
