Ryan Benoit and Anthony Birchak will move forward with their MFC 37 bantamweight headliner, as both fighters were cleared to compete at Thursday’s weigh-ins.
The evening’s main draw was supposed to be headlined by a heavyweight title showdown between Chris Barnett and Smealinho Rama, but that fight was scrapped on Wednesday after Barnett failed his pre-fight medical exam.
The AXS-TV broadcast main card will also feature a lightweight showdown between former title challenger Mukai Maromo (155.4) and Kurt Southern (155.8), as well as a middleweight conflict pitting “Ultimate Fighter” alum Sam Alvey (185.6) against UFC veteran Jay Silva (186.6).
Highlighting the show’s undercard will be a heavyweight confrontation between brothers, as Mike Treadwell (213) takes on younger brother Thomas Treadwell (226.6). The bout will serve as the professional debut for both siblings and marks the first brother-versus-brother matchup in MFC history.
