“I’m a fighter who wears his heart on his sleeve,” Davis said in a release. “I go out and give it all I’ve got to be entertaining. I think my style fits very well with the MFC.”

A Bangor, Maine, native, Davis last appeared at UFC 125 on New year’s Day, when he succumbed to a third-round knockout against Jeremy Stephens at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He has lost four of five bouts since his split decision victory over Chris Lytle at UFC 93 in January 2009. A potent finisher, Davis has delivered 14 of his 17 career wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

“No matter what, every time I fight, I try to end the fight and I’m bleeding all over somebody,” he said. “I think the MFC lightweight division is stacked, but there’s no doubt I’m the best striker. That’s what I’m going to bring. I’m going to get right in there. I’m looking forward to coming in and making a big splash.”

Johnson, meanwhile, has rattled of six wins in his last seven appearances. He has not fought since MFC 27 in November, when he earned a unanimous decision over Ryan Healy at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

“He hasn’t faced the type of competition I’ve faced, and he has no idea the level of where my confidence is at,” Davis said. “He’s tough, but I’m very confident.”
