Headlined by a lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard, UFC on FX 1 takes place Jan. 20 in Nashville, Tenn. Also expected to feature a heavyweight confrontation between Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft, the event marks the first of six planned live events on FX in 2012.

While no opponent has been announced for Madadi, Sherdog's source revealed that the promotion is eying a potential pairing with Brazilian veteran Rafaello Oliveira. However, an additional source told Sherdog that Oliveira is currently dealing with a hand injury that might prevent the potential booking from taking place. According to the source, Oliveira will have his hand examined Wednesday to discern the severity of the injury.

The 31-year-old Madadi rides a six-fight winning streak heading into his Octagon debut. The reigning Superior Challenge lightweight champion, “Mad Dog” captured that title in his most recent outing, edging UFC veteran Rich Clementi via unanimous decision on April 30.

Prior to his title win, the Iranian-born Swede notched wins over “Ultimate Fighter” alumnus Junie Allen Browning and former World Extreme Cagefighting welterweight title challenger Carlo Prater. Representing Hilti NHB, Madadi holds over half of his career wins by submission and has never been finished in his five years as a pro.
