Bill Mahood (Pictures) has tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone following his first round defeat to
Bobby Southworth (Pictures) at the Playboy Mansion on September 29 for the Strikeforce promotion, the California State Athletic Commission announced Monday.
Drostanolone is an anabolic popular with bodybuilders, typically because it causes excess water retention which may give the muscles a smooth, ripped appearance.
Mahood, 40, of Prince George, British Columbia, was fined $2,500 and has been suspended through Sept. 6, 2008, which marks the end of his licensing year with the CSAC. Furthermore, Mahood has been assessed an additional 22 days of suspension to fulfill the one year penalty.
