Maki Pitolo Welcomes New Contender Series Winner Impa Kasanganay to UFC on Aug. 22

UFC president Dana White confirmed the booking after Kasangany defeated Anthony Adams at the Contender Series on Tuesday night. Though the bout has been targeted, contracts have not yet officially been signed.
“He’s going to fight Pitolo,” White said. “Maki Pitolo, from the Contender [Series], too.
UFC on ESPN 15 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a bantamweight duel pitting Frankie Edgar against Pedro Munhoz. The main card streams on ESPN and ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN+.
An alum of Season 3 of the Contender Series, Pitolo fell to 1-2 in the Las Vegas-based promotion following a first-round submission loss to Darren Stewart at UFC Fight Night 174. “Coconut Bombz” is 13-6 as a professional, with 10 triumphs coming inside the distance.
The 26-year-old Kasanganay improved to 7-0 as a professional with a three-round verdict over Anthony Adams. He appeared on the Contender Series one year prior, as well, taking a decision against Kailan Hill in August 2019.
