Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki has announced plans for a stadium show in Poland at Warsaw’s National Stadium on May 27.
The event will take place at the PGE Narodowy, a retractable roof stadium with a capacity of approximately 58,415 that is home to the Polish national soccer team. Since its inception in 2004, KSW has held virtually all of its events at various arenas in Poland, with the exception being an October 2015 card in London ‘s Wembley Stadium.
However, the upcoming show will mark the promotion’s inaugural event at the venue. “With all these arenas being simply too small for blockbuster KSW shows, the decision was made to schedule the stadium event in 2017,” the release stated.
KSW middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov, former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski and KSW heavyweight king Fernando Rodrigues Jr. are all expected to compete on the card, although opponents have yet to be determined. Olympic wrestling bronze medalist Damian Janikowski will also make his MMA debut on May 27.
