Featherweight prospect
Ronnie Mann and Octagon veteran
Brock Larson will anchor a five-fight undercard for Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 at the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas, the promotion announced on Wednesday.
A promising up-and-comer who emerged from the U.K. scene, Mann will face one-time UFC veteran
Douglas Evans in a 145-pound tilt. The 23-year-old Mann has won two of his last three bouts for Sengoku in Japan, including a unanimous decision nod against
Shigeki Osawa at Sengoku “Eleventh Battle” last November. Evans submitted
Dustin Phillips in the first round at Shark Fights 9 in March.
Former WEC welterweight Larson collected back-to-back wins for Cage Fighting Extreme in April and May since his unanimous decision defeat to
Mike Pierce at UFC Fight Night 19 last September. The Minnesota-based wrestler hold key wins over
John Alessio and
Mike Pyle. Larson’s opponent has not been announced yet.
Also added to the undercard, WEC veterans
Marcus Hicks and
Karen Darabedyan will clash in a lightweight bout, and world-traveled kickboxer
Pete Spratt will meet Amarillo’s own
Eric Davila in a welterweight matchup.
In the main event, promotional champion
Trevor Prangley will face former UFC staple
Keith Jardine, while 2001 U.S. judo champion Rameau Thierry Sokjoudou will meet Nebraskan striker
Houston Alexander at second billing. Both bouts will be waged at 205 pounds.
Controversial welterweight striker
Paul Daley will also grace the main card against a to-be-determined opponent along with
Joey Villasenor against
Drew McFedries in a middleweight bout.
Shark Fights officials said there will be one more main-card bout announced shortly.
