The injuries continue to pile up for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, as Manny Gamburyan has withdrawn from his bout with Aljamain Sterling at UFC on Fox 15 “Rockhold vs. Machida” due to injury.
UFC officials Tuesday announced that Takeya Mizugaki will take Gamburyan’s place in the bantamweight matchup. The fight joins a card headlined by Lyoto Machida against Luke Rockhold and takes place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
Sterling was scheduled to face Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night “Rockhold vs. Bisping,” but an injury to Saenz caused the fight to be canceled. The 25-year-old maintains an undefeated mark 10 fights into his career, including wins over Cody Gibson and Hugo Viana under the UFC banner.
Mizugaki will be looking to put a61 second loss against Dominick Cruz behind him the next time he steps foot inside the Octagon. The defeat at UFC 178 broke a five-fight winning streak, a spell that included wins over Bryan Caraway, Erik Perez and Francisco Rivera.
