Heavyweights will top the bill when the Ultimate Fighting Championship holds its first event in Adelaide, Australia.
Hunt, 40, will look to bounce back after coming up short in a bid for the UFC interim heavyweight title last November, when the “Super Samoan” was stopped by second-round strikes from Fabricio Werdum. The New Zealand native holds a 5-3-1 record inside the Octagon, with four of those wins coming by way of knockout. Hunt’s last appearance in Australia saw the former K-1 World Grand Prix winner battle Antonio Silva to a majority draw in a five-round “Fight of the Night.”
Seven years the junior of his opponent, Miocic will also attempt to get back on track after coming up on the short end of a grueling, five-round decision against Junior dos Santos in December. The loss snapped the Ohioan’s three-fight winning streak which included victories over Roy Nelson, Gabriel Gonzaga and Fabio Maldonado.
