Mark Munoz and Luke Barnatt will meet in a middleweight matchup when Ultimate Fighting Championship emanates from the Philippines on May 16.
Promotion officials Monday announced the addition of the 185-pound bout to UFC Fight Night “Edgar vs. Faber,” which takes place May 16 at Mall of Asia Arena in the Metro Manila city of Pasay.
Munoz, 37, will look to erase the memory of an unpleasant weekend at UFC 184. After missing weight on his first attempt, “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” was finished by Roan Carneiro via rear-naked choke in under two minutes. The loss was Munoz’s third straight and fourth in his last five bouts.
Barnatt, 26, has been on the losing end of two consecutive split decisions. “Bigslow,” who entered the UFC by way of “The Ultimate Fighter 17,” was scheduled to face Clint Hester at UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas” on April 4, but Hester was forced to withdraw due to injury.
