A heavyweight showdown between Matt Mitrione and Gabriel Gonzaga has been booked for UFC on Fox 13.

The UFC announced the matchup on Friday. UFC on Fox 13 takes place at U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix on Dec. 13 and also features another clash of big men, as Alistair Overeem takes on Stefan Struve. The evening’s main card will be broadcast on Fox, while the preliminary draw airs on Fox Sports 1.

Mitrione has won two straight contests, posting first-round knockouts against Shawn Jordan and Derrick Lewis in his last two outings. The 36-year-old Blackzilians representative has spent his entire professional career with the Las Vegas-based promotion, posting an 8-3 record -- with seven knockout victories -- in the Octagon.

Gonzaga had a two-fight winning streak of his own snapped at UFC on Fox 10, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Stipe Miocic on Jan. 25. “Napao” owns notable triumphs over Mirko Filipovic, Ben Rothwell and Jordan, among others.
