McGregor Coach John Kavanagh Vows to Do ‘Riverdance Naked’ if Mayweather Fights in UFC
Floyd
Mayweather says he has a
multi-fight contract offer to compete in the UFC, and Dana
White says the promotion is in
”real” talks with the retired boxing champion.
Still, Conor McGregor coach John Kavanagh is more than a little skeptical that Mayweather stepping into the Octagon will ever come to fruition. In fact, the SBG Ireland trainer is so sure that Mayweather will never be a UFC athlete that he is willing to put his pride on the line.
“I will do the Riverdance naked the day Mayweather fights in the
[UFC],” Kavanagh wrote on Twitter. “Absolutely never going to
happen. Not ever.”
Kavanagh cornered McGregor as the UFC lightweight champion lost a boxing match to Mayweather via 10th round technical knockout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. McGregor’s next move is still uncertain, although the fighter has hinted at a return to MMA in various interviews.
Meanwhile, White confirmed to ESPN that the UFC was in talks with Mayweather about a possible deal.
"We're interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f---ing happened,” White said. “Anything is possible.”
