SHOOTO continues its tradition of major Summer cards on August 20 when American Gilbert Melendez (pictures) fights Japanese icon Rumina Sato (pictures) in the main event at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium.

Sato, the SHOOTO 143-lb. Pacific Rim champion, specifically requested a fight versus Melendez and the Cesar Gracie-trained fighter happily accepted. The winner will likely earn the right to fight champion Alexandre Franca Nogueira (pictures) later this year.

Keeping a busy schedule between SHOOTO and PRIDE, Norwegian Joachim Hansen (pictures) fights southpaw Kenichiro Togashi (pictures), fresh off decision win on July 30. The No. 2 ranked fighter in SHOOTO's welterweight (154-lb.) division, Hansen is one of the favorites for next month's PRIDE Bushido lightweight Grand Prix.

Former SHOOTO middleweight (167-lb.) champion Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, also a likely participate in the Bushido GP, takes on perhaps Japan's best submission grappler, Shinya Aoki (pictures), a one-time member of Japan's National Junior Judo team.

Also on the card, Tatsuya Kawajiri (pictures)'s training partner Mitsuhiro Ishida (pictures) fights Takashi Nakakura (pictures), who stopped Ray Cooper (pictures) in May.

In a battle of undefeated 143-pounders, increasingly popular Takeshi Inoue (pictures) challenges Canadian Antonio Carvalho (pictures).

Kyotaro Nakao (pictures) faces Yutaka Nishioka (pictures).

Powerfully-built Ryuhei Sato (pictures), from R-gym, is matched against Masashi Yozen (pictures).
