Michal Materla will defend his middleweight belt against Tomasz Drwal at KSW 31 on May 23.

The matchup was announced by the Polish promotion at KSW 30 “Genesis” on Saturday. Mariusz Pudzianowski, Karol Bedorf and Maciej Jewtuszko are also expected to compete on the card. The event will take place at Ergo Arena, in Gdansk, Poland.

A longtime KSW veteran, Materla fought twice in 2014, outpointing Jay Silva in their rubber match at KSW 26 before scoring a third-round technical knockout over Jorge Luis Bezerra at KSW 28.

Drwal has won four straight contests since back-to-back losses to Rousimar Palahares and David Branch ended his tenure with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2010. The 33-year-old Krakow, Poland, native last competed at Pro MMA Challenge 1 this past March, when he knocked out Delson Heleno in the first round.
