Mickey Gall asked for it, and the UFC delivered.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced on Thursday that Gall will square off against Sage Northcutt at UFC on Fox 22 in Sacramento on Dec. 17. Gall called out “Super Sage” following his first-round submission of CM Punk at UFC 203. Gall-Northcutt is the first fight confirmed for the event, which takes place at the Golden 1 Center and airs on the Fox Network.
In addition to his victory over Punk, Gall also owns a 45-second submission of Mike Jackson at UFC Fight Night “Hendricks vs. Thompson.” Gall trains at Miller Brothers MMA in New Jersey and is 3-0 overall in his burgeoning professional career.
Northcutt, 20, rebounded from the first loss of his pro tenure to outpoint Enrique Marin at UFC 200. The Katy, Texas native began his Octagon career with stoppages of Francisco Trevino and Cody Pfister before suffering a second-round submission loss against Bryan Barberena at UFC on Fox 18.
