A middleweight confrontation between Chris Camozzi and Bruno Santos will go down at UFC 175, Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced Thursday.
UFC 175 takes place July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by a middleweight title showdown between reigning champion Chris Weidman and ex-light heavyweight ruler Lyoto Machida.
Camozzi, 27, suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time in his career in his last two Octagon outings, falling to former Strikeforce king Ronaldo Souza 11 months ago before dropping a unanimous decision to Lorenz Larkin last November. The skid halted a four-fight winning streak for Camozzi, who has earned 11 of his 19 wins by either knockout or submission over nearly eight years of competition.
Santos, meanwhile, began his pro career with 13 consecutive victories before suffering his first setback in his Octagon debut last December against Krzysztof Jotko. The 26-year-old Brazilian owns just two stoppage wins to his credit, with 11 of his victories coming via judges’ decision.
