A middleweight showdown between Cezar Ferreira and Daniel Sarafian is slated to take place Nov. 9 at UFC Fight Night 32 in Brazil.
UFC Brazil officials recently announced the booking, and Sarafian also confirmed on his official Twitter feed that the fight will serve as the evening’s co-main event. The show is headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between former Pride Fighting Championships rivals Dan Henderson and Vitor Belfort.
Better known as Cezar “Mutante” in his home country, Ferreira won “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” last year by outpointing Sergio Moraes at UFC 147. The 28-year-old returned to the Octagon on Aug. 3 and submitted countryman Thiago Santos with a guillotine choke in just 47 seconds.
Sarafian was originally supposed to face Ferreira in the “TUF: Brazil” final but saw a training injury derail his UFC debut. Instead, Sarafian made his Octagon debut in January, dropping a split decision to C.B. Dollaway at UFC on FX 7. Sarafian righted his ship in his sophomore Octagon outing, stopping Eddie Mendez with a first-round arm-triangle choke in June.
