The UFC 200 lineup is beginning to take shape, as multiple outlets have reported that Gegard Mousasi is likely to face Derek Brunson at the July 9 event.
Fox Sports first reported the middleweight pairing. UFC 200 takes place at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is also expected to include a heavyweight clash pitting Cain Velasquez against Travis Browne, although nothing has been formally announced by the promotion.
Mousasi has won three of his last four in the Octagon, including a three-round verdict over Thales Leites in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night London on Feb. 27. “The Dreamcatcher” has finished 31 of his 38 professional triumphs by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Brunson has won four straight and six of seven in the UFC overall, with his only setback coming at the hands of Yoel Romero in January 2014. In 2015, the Jackson-Wink MMA product scored successive first-round stoppages of Roan Carneiro, Sam Alvey and Ed Herman.
