Promotion officials recently announced the middleweight pairing. UFC Fight Night takes place at the Consol Energy Center and airs on Fox Sports 1. A main even has not yet been announced for the card.
Alvey is coming off a first-round technical knockout loss to Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night “Teixeira vs. St. Preux” on Aug. 8. Prior to that defeat, the former Maximum Fighting Championship titlist had won three straight fights in the Octagon via first-round knockout.
Sarafian did not compete at all in 2015. The 33-year-old Brazilian last appeared at UFC Fight Night “Machida vs. Dolloway,” where he earned a stoppage against Antonio Dos Santos Jr. Sarafian is 2-3 with the Las Vegas-based promotion overall.
