UFC 119 preliminary bouts will air live on Spike TV Sept. 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT during a one-hour broadcast prior to the event’s pay-per-view, the cable network announced on Tuesday.
Heavyweights
Matt Mitrione and
Joey Beltran and middleweights
C.B. Dollaway and
Joe Doerksen will face off live from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis during the free telecast.
Mitrione, a graduate of “The Ultimate Fighter 10,” has made the most of his short time in the sport, notching back-to-back victories against reality show housemates
Marcus Jones and
Kimbo Slice in his only two professional bouts. The former defensive lineman for the N.Y. Giants and the Minnesota Vikings has shown a propensity for success with his fists, having stopped both of his opponents with strikes.
The 28-year-old Beltran finished
Rolles Gracie with strikes at UFC 109 last February and followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over Canadian brawler
Tim Hague at UFC 113 last May in Montreal.
A runner-up of “The Ultimate Fighter 7, Dollaway has won four of his last five outings since he lost to
Amir Sadollah in the show’s finals. Most recently, the 2006 All-American wrestler for Arizona State University notched a unanimous decision victory over
Goran Reljic at UFC 110 in February.
Entering his 11th year as an active competitor, the 33-year-old Doerksen rides a seven-fight win streak into his middleweight matchup with Dollaway, which includes a second-round submission win over
Tom Lawlor at UFC 113 last May in Montreal. The Manitoba, Canada, native has won 31 of his 52 bouts by submission.
