Mizuki Inoue will step in for Manjit Kolekar and face Lynn Alvarez in a strawweight bout at Invicta FC 18.
The all-female promotion announced the change in a release on Thursday. Kolekar, a native of Mumbai, India, was unable to compete on the July 29 card due to visa issues. Invicta FC 18 takes place at the Kansas City Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and is headlined by an strawweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Jodie Esquibel.
The 21-year-old Inoue enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak, which includes a second-round submission of Lacey Schuckman at Invicta FC 15 in January. The Japanese fighter is 11-4 as a pro and 2-2 in Invicta, with victories over UFC talents Bec Rawlings and Alex Chambers to her credit.
Alvarez will be competing for the first time since January 2014, when she submitted Amber Stautzenberger on a regional card in North Dakota. In her lone Invicta appearance, “Lights Out” suffered a first-round TKO loss to ex-UFC strawweight champ Carla Esparza.
