Modafferi Recovering after Hospitalization

Roxanne Modafferi (Pictures), one of MMA's finest female fighters, has recently been released after two days of hospitalization following a sudden 105 degree fever that left the K-Grace tournament winner sidelined this past weekend.

"I'm not entirely sure why just yet, but I suddenly came down with a really high fever," Modafferi told Sherdog.com. "It was rough, because I could hardly move and talk -- it made me delerious. It was so hard on me that I just barely got myself to the hospital.

"After I was finally admitted, they put me on an IV drip with antibiotics and kept me for observation for two days. At the moment, I'm still sick, but I'm feeling much better than before."

Modafferi, who has recently been making her presence felt in the Japanese women's MMA scene under the banner of Wajyutsu Keisyukai, indicated on her blog that the probable cause of the fever was a systemic infection, though she also remarked that doctors have yet to determine a specific cause or its implications.
