Moreno-Haselrig Gets Primetime Nod
New Jersey knockout artist Carlos Moreno has been cleared to
face former New York Jets offensive guard and NCAA wrestling
champion Carlton
Haselrig in a heavyweight undercard bout at EliteXC's
"Primetime" on May 31 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
The 42-year-old Haselrig was left without a dance partner two days ago, after Joe McCall dropped from the card due to a family emergency.
Moreno has won two of his last three tilts with his fists, but dropped his last bout to Kevin Jordan (Pictures) via strikes at Battle Cage Xtreme 3 on October 20 in Atlantic City, N.J.
Moreno, 30, recently appeared on two episodes of BET's "The Iron Ring" before he was eliminated from competition. The heavy-handed Moreno will face Haselrig in his second professional contest.
