Light heavyweight Kazuhiro Nakamura
(Pictures) has been suspended three
months and fined $500 after testing positive for marijuana, the
California State Athletic Commission announced Wednesday.
Making his UFC debut Sept. 22 in Anaheim, Calif., against Brazil's Ryoto Machida (Pictures), Nakamura was dominated in a three-round unanimous decision loss.
Prior to Saturday's fight, Nakamura (11-7) had participated solely in PRIDE events. He fought on U.S. soil once before, stopping Travis Galbraith in Las Vegas in October of last year.
The 28-year-old Japanese judoka, who represents the Yoshida Dojo, is the lone participant on the UFC 76 card to test positive for drugs of abuse. All anabolic agent and masking agents tests administered by the CSAC are still pending.
