Narantungalag Jadambaa Nets Quick KO at One Championship ‘Dynasty of Champions 6’

Narantungalag Jadambaa fought like he had a flight to catch.

Jadambaa required less than a minute to knock out Eric Kelly in the One Championship “Dynasty of Champions 6” main event on Saturday at the Hefei Olympic Sports Centre in Anhui, China. Kelly (12-3) met his end 44 seconds into round one, as the Filipino star suffered consecutive defeats for the first time in his career.

The 40-year-old Jadambaa (12-4), who once held One Championship’s featherweight crown, floored Kelly with a mean right hand and mopped up was left with the punch that followed. He has rattled off back-to-back victories, both of them finishes, since surrendering his title to Marat Gafurov in November.

In a high-stakes middleweight showcase, Cage Fury Fighting Championships alum Aung La N Sang improved to 3-0 under the One Championship banner, as he submitted Aleksei Butorin with a second-round arm-triangle choke. The previously unbeaten Butorin (10-1) found himself hopelessly entangled in the clutches of “The Burmese Python” and conceded defeat 1:57 into round two.

Sang (18-9) has won four of his past five bouts, a technical knockout loss to Jonavin Webb in October 2013 his only misstep.

Meanwhile, Costa Rican export Ariel Sexton (11-3) struck Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Roger Huerta into submission in the third round of their lightweight feature. Huerta (22-9-1) tapped 3:53 into round three. The 33-year-old has gone 2-8 since his emotional rear-naked choke submission on Clay Guida at “The Ultimate Fighter 6” Finale in 2007.

Sexton, 34, will carry a three-fight winning streak into his next appearance.

In other action, Li Kai Wen (6-3) took a unanimous verdict from Keanu Subba (3-2) in a three-round featherweight confrontation; Ann Osman (4-2) submitted Haiat Farag Youssef (1-1) with an armbar 3:59 into round one of their women’s flyweight affair; Ze Wu (5-2) put away Xiaoliang Zheng (0-2) with punches 4:49 into the first round of their flyweight tilt; Tang Ren Xing (1-0) submitted Zhang You Liang (0-2) with a guillotine choke 4:42 into round two of their flyweight battle; and Bu Huo You Ga (3-1) claimed a unanimous decision over Li Hao Jie (2-1) to win the One Hefei flyweight tournament -- Ga tapped Wan Jian Ping (0-1) with a guillotine choke 1:24 into the second round of their semifinal, while Jie was awarded a unanimous verdict against Maimai Tituo Heti (0-1) in advancing to the final.
