Nik Lentz is sick with the flu, and as a result, his scheduled featherweight clash with Levan Makashvili at UFC Fight Night in Broomfield, Colo., has been scrapped.
Sherdog.com confirmed the cancellation with a UFC official following an initial report from MMAJunkie.com . The news comes less than an hour before the fighters were supposed to weigh-in for their bout. Both Lentz and Makashvili will be paid their show money.
UFC Fight Night "Henderson vs. Thatch" takes place at the 1stBank Center and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Benson Henderson and Brandon Thatch. The Fox Sports 1-televised card will move forward with 10 bouts.
Lentz last competed in May, scoring a unanimous decision over Manny Gamburyan at UFC Fight Night “Brown vs. Silva.” A veteran of the Cage Fury Fighting Championship promotion, Makashvili was set to make his Octagon debut after winning six of his first seven professional outings.
